MORE CORONA VIRUS RESOURCES:

Anyone in Georgia with questions about COVID-19 should call the Georgia Department of Health’s COVID-19 hotline at 844-442-268.

For those who are in need or are looking to financially support great organizations helping Georgians, below are organizations on the front lines of this pandemic. With economic uncertainty looming for families across our state, these groups are helping keep food on their tables and provide support for those hit hardest by COVID-19.

Food Assistance

Resources for Service Workers

  • The Giving Kitchen provides emergency assistance to food service workers through financial support and a network of community resources. Learn more here.

  • The National Domestic Workers Alliance has set up a Coronavirus Care Fund for nannies, caretakers, and house cleaners to slow the spread of the virus by providing emergency assistance that enables domestic workers to stay home and stay healthy. Learn more here.

Educational Resources

  • Georgia Public Broadcasting and the Georgia Department of Education have partnered to provide free broadcast programming and accompanying digital resources that adhere to the state’s standards to provide continued at-home learning. You can access these resources here.

  • The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is providing in-depth coverage to keep you informed of how COVID-19 is impacting Georgia. https://www.ajc.com/news/coronavirus/

Small Business Resources

Resources for Healthcare Workers

  • Hospitals in Georgia and across the country are in critical need of medical supplies in their efforts to fight COVID-19. Hospitals in rural Georgia are especially in need of help. Phoebe Putney Health System, which operates four hospitals in the Albany, Georgia area has online templates so you can make face masks at home. You can access more information and a list of needed medical supplies here.

  • Unemployment Assistance (Special Cases)

    • We have found several incidents where the individual’s employer (who filed on their behalf) keyed their SSN incorrectly and/or if the individual filed, the information entered does not match the Social Security Administration records. We crossmatch all of our UI records with SSA. In these cases, they will receive a letter advising of the information they need to provide. This information can be emailed to UI_Integrity@gdol.ga.gov. If an individual needs to reset their PIN, they can do so online by visiting our website at dol.georgia.gov. >online services>Reset Your PIN.
